J.T. Trading Corporation was born when Jennifer O'Brien, a
long time quilter and international instructor, was introduced
to a european company with a wonderful product called 505 Spray
and Fix, a basting spray. This company was looking for someone
to introduce and promote this innovative product in America.
Her interest piqued, Jennifer asked Thom Morganti to join her
and handle administration/operations for a company to represent
this product. J. T. Trading was established and opened
its doors March 1998.
Today, J. T. Trading Corporation is an importer and supplier
of sewing notions in the United States. We currently sell an
inventory of products consisting of various aerosol adhesives,
a fabric protector, and needlework stretchers. These products
are imported and sold under an exclusive franchise that includes
the entire USA. For the future, we plan to introduce new sewing
notions that enhance and complement our product line.
The markets we cover are quilting, embroidery, appliqué,
dressmaking, needlework and sewing related crafts. Several of
our products also have applications in the general crafts market.
We have a nationwide sales force that covers the entire United
States including Alaska and Hawaii. Individuals were carefully
chosen for their extensive experience in the sewing craft market.
We sell to all the major distributors of sewing notions, to several
large mail order catalogs, independent stores and regional chains.
Our in house staff has an average experience of over 25 years
in international trade and transportation, importing, procurement,
warehousing and distribution, as well as sales and marketing.
We created a seamless transportation pipeline between our overseas
manufacturers, and suppliers to our Newtown, Connecticut warehouse,
assuring a reliable, steady supply of product to our facility.
All orders are processed and shipped within 72 hours of receipt.
Advertising in major sewing publications supports our products.
We attend, exhibit, teach and demonstrate at major quilting and
needlework trade shows; maintain a web site; and write articles
for the trade. We work closely with nationally known artists,
teachers, authors, and designers to assist with our promotion
efforts. Currently, J.T. Trading Corporation is sponsoring a
quilt-making contest, which requires the use of our products;
we plan to make this contest a bi-annual event.
Our goal is to establish J.T. Trading Corporation as a knowledgeable
and eminent resource on sewing crafts through our web site. The
primary purpose of our web site will be the dissemination of
information concerning quilting, embroidery, needlepoint and
sewing. Our web site will soon be featuring the monthly project
that will help us showcase our products. Our column called "Ask
Jennifer" is a question and answer forum on quilting.
J.T. Trading Corporation is constantly on the lookout for
new sewing notions that will complement our product list. We
especially want to work with foreign companies looking to enter
the U.S. market.
We will help them penetrate the U.S. market by promoting their
products through print advertising, special web page presence,
mailings, and trade show attendance that will prominently feature
their products at our booth. Special efforts will be made to
liaison with well-known teachers, artists, authors, and designers
so they will recommend our products to their public. We are looking
for long term partnerships.
As an innovative importer with a very successful distribution
network already in place, we believe we are well positioned to
assist foreign and domestic companies in establishing a profitable
presence in the United States.
